The story of how CLEAR came to be.

The area has transformed itself through the ages, from rising to be the second largest fishing port in Scotland between the 1600s to 1800s, to a thriving coal mining town and exporter in the 1800s to 1900s.
When the mines began to close in the 1960s to 1980s the area lost a lot of employment with related issues over the generations.

In the 2000s, things started with a slow upturn with investment, new industries and transport.
CLEAR is a Community Anchor organisation, working towards regenerating our area and making it an even better place to live.

CLEAR works with the local community on year-round climate action activities including:

    . Tree planting
    . Community orchard creation
. Planting spring bulbs and wild flowers
. Growing local fruit and vegetables
    . Repairing bikes
    . Recycled woodwork
    . Knitting and crafts
    . Heritage
    . Community events
