Residents and visitors to this small coastal town are often surprised by its surroundings on the Fife Coastal Path.
Occupying a fabulous location perched above the Forth with views across to the Lothians and looking across to the volcanic rim of the Lomond’s and Largo Law, this neglected area needs to be explored.
The built environment is rather rundown but CLEAR has created interesting walks and trails around town which invite exploration and offer easy and accessible opportunities for health, fitness, natural and heritage interest with planting of trees, spring bulbs and flower beds to enhance the route.
To encourage residents and visitors to get out and about around town, on foot or on bicycle, we have created a series of Buckhaven Paths & Trails.

Buckhaven Heritage Trails – Inner and Outer

Explore the interesting history of the town by following one of the two trails and look out for the 25 small plaques along the route of each, highlighting places of particular interest.  The Inner is shorter focusing on lower Buckhaven, the shore and the town centre.  The Outer Trail visits the interwar and later housing schemes and more.
